Utanatu Voice circle

Utanatu Voice circle

“Utanatu Voice circle” is based on the Sovereign Voice circles’ foundations: the idea of the voice being a symbol of sovereignty and therefore of power, power to alter reality, power to have graceful responsibility over our experiences in Life. Utanatu is an archetype in Bana Kuma who portrays the ability and agility to switch beliefs or to not be bound by them when they are seemingly limiting the self. In its wisdom we (seriously and playfully) look at the core programs and belief systems around our voice and what it means to us, what it means to really use it and how it affects the reality within and the landscape around us. The circle is also a conduit for SahUle, Water carrier, who is the archetype for emotions and the great balancing agent for Fire, the one who feels and can remain still with their powerful emotions (energy in motion). The circle is abundant with fundamental sounding and intuitive singing practices, it sits in ecstatic prayer and celebration with improvised music, and it is a playful and yet profound arena and for the many, deeply transformational.

Tikal is an inspiring artist and mystique who’s mission is aligned with one of the mystery school’s “know thyself” precepts and who’s passion is in tribal music. Tikal leads groups from all walks of life fearlessly and with a deep understanding to people’s uniqueness and conditioning, her Ecstatic Voice (Sovereign Voice gatherings and L.I.V.events for Liberated Intuitive Voice groups) offer life changing empowering circles grounded on the spirit of community, and on the basis of soulful listening and intuitive music making. Taught by celestial ancestors of Persia, Mongolia and Tibet, India, and Java – and mostly self taught Tikal delivers an experiential form of teaching, a circle designed to access what is behind the masks and to acknowledge the bigger picture, a circle forged in Fire flame to honor spirit and molded in icy Waters to bless human emotion, following a sequence of initiatory events.
Tikal was raised in Java, an is-land of mystical spirit music in the “Ring of Fire” band of islands called Indonesia. She further developed her journey in Bali, another island populated by Javanese king-and-warrior descendants who resourcefully kept their intricate rituals alive after the Islamic conquest -to this day their descendants are honoring their ancestry through ceremonies, open public dialogue with spirits and other-worldly beings on every daily occasion. In 2007, Tikal ventured to meet with a sacred vine spirit in Peru whom exampled the application of the ancient codes of sound through visions, but also through the medicine men & women’s vocal instrument (the primary medium of expression, she later found to be the primordial emotive communication “device”). Initiated into the Whale totem, carrier of ancient sounds in 2014 by White Star, medicine woman and medium of Cherokee and Pawnee immediate descent, she has honored the profound medicine of the e-motions (energy in motion). Later on between 2016 and 2017, initiated into the journey of Bana Kuma (sacred altering) and recovering from a profoundly cathartic embrace with depression and weaving through boundless soul level grief, she has led herself and continues to -with the guidance of her ancestors, kins and mentors to forge the aforementioned vocation, and give exampleship in the Sovereign Voice circles helping the human beings to recover their true voice, remember their sovereignty (personal power), engage in right relationship with their Self & Community (face emotions with grace and responsibility to engage in authentic communication and transparency), and therefore act forevermore accordingly.

Tikal also weaves powerful singing with improvised poetry in Indonesian and French in a trio band DMTFM back in Australia. She has traveled to Hawaii to play and celebrate, and to bring her heart project Sovereign Voice & Ecstatic Voice to Flow Fest 2019 as a token of appreciation and a gift to the community for the monumental teachings and serious fun that BANA KUMA has brought to her life and many others. For the more to come!
