Cory Simmons (of Prevalent Nature
Cory Simmons is an up and coming multi-musician acoustic/singer/songwriter currently residing outside of Chicago in the NW suburbs. His genres of music range from Blues to Indie, Soul, Reggae, Folk, Rock, and Jam fusion. With a set that would consist of many soulful originals and a handful of covers. Most of the time he likes to play the acoustic guitar bringing a full organic sound. (If he’s not accompanied by the full band “Prevalent Nature”). A lot of the songs written, are filled with lyrics from the heart and inspired by daily experiences and realizations of ones perspective.
Appearing at open mics in Colorado at Vision Quest Brewery and other events held in Denver, one being March Against Monsanto, with a handful of performances in the Chicagoland area. Cory has performed with festivals across the United States including the beautiful Shangri-La at Harmony Park in Minnesota. With a fluid mixture of acoustic sounds, vocals and looping vibes, he brings a perspective of his truth and medicine, something that many could relate to, especially when given the opportunity to be heard. Wether it be a simple chord strummed, or a verse sang.
With music always being his passion, he felt inspired to share something that has helped him throughout his continuous life journey. The power of music and its ability to unite all beings of the earth together as one collective force of love. The universal language, a gift we all possess. Throughout the many years of attending festivals/shows, the epiphany of sharing his heARTistry soon guided him down the path of giving back to the community through music and awareness of self.
